Bulk delete Alerts (for On-Call admins).

Bulk delete Alerts (for On-Call admins).

On-Call Admins can now bulk delete alerts in Rootly, making it easy to clean up test data, remove noise, and keep your on-call environment focused and accurate. This is especially useful for newly onboarded teams that want to reset their instance after sandboxing or testing alert flows.

Bilk deleting alerts in the Rootly Alerts UI.

Why it matters

During setup and onboarding, teams often generate test alerts to validate routing, paging, and workflows. Until now, cleaning these up meant deleting alerts one by one. Bulk delete gives admins a faster, safer way to:

  • Reset test environments after onboarding or configuration changes.
  • Reduce clutter in alert queues so responders focus on real issues.
  • Maintain a clean operational baseline for reporting and ongoing on-call operations.

How it works

  • Admin-only capability: All On-Call Admins can bulk select alerts.
  • Multi-select + delete: Select multiple alerts at once and delete them in a single action.
  • Immediate effect: Deleted alerts are removed from the system, helping restore signal-to-noise instantly.

Permissions are governed by existing on-call roles to ensure this capability remains safe and intentional.

Check out the docs to see exact roles and permissions.
