🔔 Notify Slack Channel of Shift Changes

Keeping teams aligned on on-call schedules is crucial for smooth operations. To enhance communication and transparency, Rootly now offers two configurable options to automatically update your team about on-call shifts through Slack:

1. Weekly Shift Summary
Stay ahead of the week by scheduling a weekly shift summary notification. This summary will be sent to your chosen Slack channel on a configurable day and time, providing a clear overview of who will be on-call for the upcoming week. Set it up for a time that best fits your team's schedule to ensure everyone is informed and ready.

2. Real-Time Shift Update Notifications
When shifts change, it’s vital to keep everyone updated instantly. With Shift Update Notifications, Rootly will post real-time updates to your designated Slack channel whenever there’s a shift change. This feature ensures that your team always has the latest information, minimizing any confusion about who’s on-call.

To start setting up your Slack notifications for on-call schedules, go to On-Call > Schedules > [Select Schedule] > Notifications and configure these new options to fit your team’s needs.
