Custom Alert Ringtones

Custom Alert Ringtones

Being on-call is tough enough. Getting jolted awake by an aggressive ringtone? Even worse. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new collection of custom ringtones, designed specifically with on-call engineers in mind, to notify you of new alerts without shocking your system.

What’s new?

We worked with a professional sound engineer to craft ringtones that emulate the classic pager feel, but with a modern twist. These tones are:

  • Cheerful and motivating: they gently get your attention without ruining your mood.
  • Midnight-friendly: no more heart-stopping alarms when you’re paged at 2 AM.
  • Distinctly on-call: engineered to stand out from your usual notifications.

Whether you’re deep in sleep or focused during the day, these new sounds make sure you’re alerted without the added anxiety of most paging alarms.

Get started

The new ringtones are available in our latest iOS app now.

Check them out in your app settings under Sounds: one is the new Default sound which is perfect for anyone who is looking for a more energetic ringtone, and the other is called Tranquil Tones, which is great for those looking for more calm paging experiences.

New & Improved

Mobile App Version 2.2: Attach alerts to incidents, create overrides for team members, and customize your ringtones.

API Key Scopes: Generate Rootly API tokens scoped globally or to specific teams.

Sub-Status Forms: Create forms tailored to each active sub-status in an incident to gather the right information at the right time.

Target entire Teams within an Escalation Policy: Page an entire team, or admins of a team, to maximize the opportunity for an alert to be acknowledged.
